Early Years Foundation Stage

The Early Years Foundational Stage (EYFS) includes children in our Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception. The EYFS guides the teaching and learning process and helps up to establish a positive and rich learning environment for our classes. Our focus on Montessori philosophy, teaching and materials enables children to develop to their full potential. Children develop a joyful appreciation for learning. With encouragement from their teachers, they develop independence, initiative, self-discipline and a compassion for others.

We believe children need to feel safe, valued, included and engaged at school. Meeting these needs fosters their intellectual, creative, physical, social and emotional development.

We believe every child is unique and is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured. We believe that a child can learn to be strong and independent through positive and nurturing relationships. We believe that children learn and develop well when their environment is well-prepared for learning and teacher’s assist their individual needs. We believe that children learn in different ways. Teachers teach children by providing stimulating lessons, engaging materials and play opportunities.

Our areas of learning are communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design.
