Computing
Exposed to a range of technologies.
Children from Nursery through to Year 6 participate in computing lessons. We work with each year group to ensure a steady progression through the curriculum. We start them early - in Nursery, and in KS1 children learn about what a computer is as well as what is personal information, algorithms and bugs. They will learn how to use floor robots and create simple art and animation as well as learning how we can keep things on our computers and developing keyboard skills.
As children progress to KS2 we cover areas such as graphics, data handling, spreadsheets, presentations, how computers work, networks, understanding the web, algorithms, e-safety, history and development of computers, the internet, communication, programming, computer languages such as Logo and Python, coding, making games and film editing, as well as preparing Year 6's for the next part of their journey to high school.
