Design and Technology

Using creativity and imagination, pupils design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values.

Throughout the year, different year groups tackle appropriate Design and Technology projects each term. Often they are cross-curricular and link to Science, Music, Geography or History. Construction of castles, boats, monsters and musical instruments, winding mechanisms, electrical circuits and food technology like making solar ovens are some of the topics covered. The children enjoy the challenge of the investigation and construction and delight in the success of their projects.
