Outings and Field-trips

Just as important as academics.

At Phoenix we believe the world is our classroom and from as early as Reception, children participate in field trips and school outings to engage with the world around them. At KS1 children take part in two field trips per year, while in KS2 there is usually one outing per term. Destinations are chosen and field trips planned with links to the curriculum and the development of specific skills as well as the very important focus on giving children opportunities to socialize together. A range of destinations include a variety of farms, mountains, rivers and conservation areas, an orthopaedic hospital, a water treatment plant and a game reserve. The final Year 6 residential trip involves climbing Malawi’s highest mountain!
