PE
Physical education prepares children to be physically and mentally active, fit and healthy for life.
Physical Education at Phoenix is taught by specialist teachers from Pre-nursery (age 2) to Year 6 (age 11). In the lower years we focus on basic skills such as throwing, catching, running, jumping, hopping and skipping as well as introducing co-operation and teamwork. In the Upper School, we are more sports-specific and work on the skills associated with the sports in which we compete against the neighbouring International schools, such as hockey, netball, tag rugby, football, athletics and cross country. Teamwork and good sportsmanship are a big focus, but more than anything we want all our children at Phoenix to find pleasure and reward in whichever activity they are doing and ultimately have fun!
